NORWALK, Conn. – A pedestrian was struck by a car while crossing Connecticut Avenue in Norwalk on Wednesday morning, according to police reports.
The 17-year-old was attempting to cross the road near Home Depot at about 11:20 a.m. Wednesday. While he was crossing the five-lane road, a city bus and a car approached, police say. The walker sped up to get out of the way of the bus but was clipped by a car in the far right lane, police say.
The car’s driver got out to help the teen and called 911. The pedestrian was taken to Norwalk Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the police report.
Police determined that the bus had blocked the driver’s vision during the incident, and there was no way the car could stop in time to avoid hitting the pedestrian. No charges were filed against the driver Wednesday.
