The shooting was reported at around 5 p.m. near the intersection of Ann Street, the Stamford Advocate reported. Police said that they recovered several shell casings, and that witnesses said they saw the shooter running south on Taylor Street, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Shortly after the shooting, a 40-year-old man went to Stamford Hospital and reported that he had been struck in the left calf, according to the Stamford Advocate. A second bullet had struck his iPhone in his pants pocket, the Stamford Advocate reported. The man was treated and released.
Police are searching for surveillance footage and working to determine a motive for the shooting, according to the Stamford Advocate. Anyone with information is asked to contact Stamford Police at (203) 977-4420.
