The male victim, who police did not identify, was a Norwalk resident who suffered a single non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg, police said. He was treated in Norwalk Hospital after the 10:10 p.m. shooting, police said. No other injuries were reported.
Multiple shots were fired at the victim, who was walking alone on Third Street near The Marvin, an assisted living facility at Third Street and Gregory Boulevard, according to Lt. Thomas Mattera.
Police did not release any further description of the two shooters. But officers and detectives were able to extensively canvass the area and talk to many people in a relatively short period of time, Chief Thomas Kulhawik said.
“We’re very early into this investigation,” said Mattera, adding that the victim and the two suspects appear to know each other. “We believe this stemmed from a prior incident.”
After firing at the victim, the suspects fled on foot.
