One Dead After Three-Car Crash on I-95 Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – A three-car accident on I-95 southbound on the Westport-Norwalk border claimed the life of a Stamford man late Thursday night, according to a state police accident report.

Carlos Flores, 37, and his passenger were ejected from their car during the accident, which happened between exits 17 and 16 around 11:45 p.m. Flores died on the scene and his passenger, Lino Flores, 43, also of Stamford, was taken to Norwalk Hospital by Norwalk EMS with non-life threatening injuries, the police report states.

The accident occurred after the car driven by Carlos Flores hit the rear of a car driven by a Greenwich woman, and then a car driven by a Westport man, according to the report. After hitting the second car, Flores’ car veered to the right, struck a guardrail and then a light pole, causing the car to rollover.

One of the other drivers was transported to Norwalk Hospital after complaining of left arm pain.
