Norwalk Workers Charged With Misusing Credit Cards

NORWALK, Conn. – Three employees of Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Norwalk were charged in the illegal use of company credit cards to purchase gas for themselves, police said.

Company managers noticed in March that there were irregularities in the amount of gas being purchased with the credit cards, police said. The managers conducted their own investigation, which included obtaining surveillance footage from gas stations where the credit cards were used. They confronted several employees, who admitted to using the cards, police said. The employees were fired and agreed to pay back the money.

The company contacted police when four of the employees had made no attempt to pay them back, according to police reports. The four owed totals of $2,110, $1,384, $1,371 and $776. Police got in contact with George Beverly, 23, Nettie McClinton, 48, and Jessse Dickens, 28, all of Norwalk. All told police that they used the cards, but did not have a way to pay back the money they agreed, according to police.

They were each charged with fifth-degree larceny, receiving goods and service obtained illegally and illegal use of credit card. Police said that they are still trying to get in contact with the fourth employee.
