Norwalk Woman Who Jumped To Her Death Was Daughter Of Famous Newsman

NORWALK, Conn. — The 60-year-old woman who jumped to her death from the garage at Norwalk Hospital was the daughter of a longtime television broadcaster.

Norwalk police identified Mary Reasoner as the woman who died on Dec. 12 after jumping from the third floor of the garage. Her death was ruled a suicide by the state medical examiner's office.

According to The Hour, she is the daughter of Harry Reasoner, who was one of the founders of CBS-TV's popular newsmagazine "60 Minutes." 

Harry Reasoner died in 1991 at the age of 68, three months after retiring. He suffered a blood clot in the brain in a fall at his longtime home in Westport. Mary Reasoner was a graduate of Staples High School, according to the Hour.
