Jamila Pereira, 31, was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, possession of burglar tools, conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny, possession of prescription narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. She posted $50,000 bond and will appear in court Oct. 1.

Police responded to the dealership at 3 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, when a burglar alarm was activated.

Officers found a Dodge Charger with no license plates in the parking lot of the Whole Foods next door, with Pereira sitting in the passenger seat, police said.

When officers spoke to her, she said that she and her boyfriend had gotten in a fight, but she couldn't provide a reason why she was in the parking lot, according to police.

Pereira was detained while officers checked the area, but were unable to find anyone else, police said. She later admitted that she was there to steal rims and wheels from the dealership, police said.

Inside the car, which had been rented in North Carolina, officers found cinder blocks, tools and blankets, which police said would all be used to jack up a car and steal its wheels.

According to police reports, when officers searched Pereira and her bag, they found three Suboxone strips, which are used to treat opioid dependence, as well as an unidentified orange pill, a spoon with burn marks and copper brillo, which police said is used as a filter to smoke crack.

Police said they believe another person was working with Pereira at the time, and the case remains under investigation.
