NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk woman broke into her neighbor's home and stole a puppy and an iPad on Saturday, June 21, but she was arrested for an unrelated charge, according to thehour.com.

Leslie Umpierre, 37, was interviewed by officers after her neighbor complained that she took a dog and iPad from her home, police told the Hour. The victim said Umpierre had previously threatened to steal the dog, thehour.com reported.

While being interviewed, officers discovered there was a warrant out for Umpierre's arrest on a charge of failure to appear. Umpierre's mother later arrived and returned the puppy and iPad, thehour.com said.
