NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk woman was accused of threatening a person with a machete Wednesday evening, police said.
The victim told police that she was in a car parked on Center Avenue when she was confronted by Juanita Ocampo, 42, of Center Avenue, according to the police report. Ocampos began threatening the woman and demanded that she get out of the car, the victim said.
During the confrontation, Ocampo waved a machete in the air, police said. She also swung the weapon at the car, causing some scratches on the passenger-side front fender, according to the police report.
Ocampo had returned the weapon to her house before police arrived, according to the victim’s statement. Officers found a carrying case for a machete at the scene and took it in as evidence, police said.
Ocampo was arrested and charged with a breach of peace, second-degree threatening and third-degree criminal mischief. She was released after posting $2,000 bond and is due in court on Oct. 9.
