NORWALK, Conn. -- A Stamford man was arrested after police said he stole cash from the Norwalk Walmart where he worked.
Markquan Price, 23, was arrested Wednesday, April 30, and charged with fourth-degree larceny. He was released on a promise to appear in court on Friday, May 9.
The arrest stems from a complaint police received in late February from the Walmart on Connecticut Avenue. The management became suspicious that Price, a cashier, was stealing money, according to police. Managers began watching him and examining his receipts. It was discovered that Price would take money from customers, but instead of placing it in the cash register, he would throw it in the garbage can, according to police. Price used this method to steal about $2,500 from the store, police said.
A warrant was issued for Price's arrest, and he turned himself in to police headquarters Wednesday evening.
