Jahtavius Derry, 18, was charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. He was held on $25,000 bond and will appear in court Feb. 20.

The arrest stems from a Dec. 21 incident at the Rowayton train station. A woman told police that she picked up a male friend, who asked her to drive to the Rowayton train station to pick up another friend. When they arrived at the train station, a man wearing all black and a ski mask jumped in the car, police said.

He pulled out a gun and demanded the woman's purse, according to police reports. The male passenger handed over his cellphone and wallet, and the armed man got out of the car and began to flee, police said. The male passenger then got out of the car and started to chase him, police said.

Through the investigation, police said detectives determined that Derry had been the man with the gun. He was taken into custody Thursday.

Police said the incident remains under investigation, and more arrests may be coming.
