NORWALK, Conn. – Three men were arrested Monday in connection with a fight in Norwalk that left a man unconscious in July, according to police reports.
Norwalk Police received reports of a fight between approximately six men on Hillside Street on the night of July 31. One of the suspects was carrying a baseball bat, according to the caller’s report.
Most of the men involved fled the scene when officers arrived, according to the report. Police found one man lying unconscious and bleeding from a head wound, police said. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment at the time.
Investigators identified the men involved in the fight through interviews, police said Tuesday. Police believe that Omari Caldwell, 19, of Hillside Street was the man seen carrying the bat during the incident, and that he caused the injuries to the man found bleeding, according to police reports.
Norwalk Police filed for a warrant for Caldwell’s arrest, which was served Monday. He was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and a breach of the peace, and released after posting a $5,000 bond.
Jayquann McKinney, 22, of Main Avenue and Myjah Tor, 44, of Hillside Street were also arrested on warrants related to the fight Monday. Both were charged with a breach of peace, and Tor was also charged with third-degree assault. Both were released on a $1,000 bond.
Caldwell, McKinney and Tor are all scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 18. Other arrests in the case are still pending, police said.
