According to Norwalk Police Sgt. David O’Connor, up to as many as four Norwalk officers could be dispatched to Newtown if needed.
Newtown police have been working around the clock since Friday morning’s shooting, so Norwalk and other police departments in the region are sending officers to Newtown to assist with patrols and other functions to allow Newtown officers to take time off.
The assignment was scheduled for Monday, and whether officers from Norwalk and other towns are needed for additional days was not disclosed.
