NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk woman was charged with manslaughter after police said she supplied the heroin that killed a 22-year-old who died in a fatal overdose in February.

Police responded to an apartment on Isaac Street on Feb. 7 on a report of an unresponsive woman. When they arrived they found 22-year-old Kadeelyn Konstanitino, who was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Detective John Bell assumed the investigated, and determined that 54-year-old Lori Ledonne, who lived in the apartment, was the only person present on the night of Konstanitino's death, police said.

Police said that over the course of several weeks, Ledonne had befriended Konstanitino and supplied her with heroin on several occasions. Konstanitino's death was caused by acute intoxication of heroin/fentanyl. The investigation showed that Ledonne's procurement and distribution of the heroin and fentanyl led to Konstanitino's overdosing and ultimately her death, according to police.

A warrant was issued for Ledonne and she turned herself in to police on Tuesday. She was charged with second-degree manslaughter, and illegal manufacture, distribution or sale of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $100,000 and she was given a court date of May 25.
