Norwalk Police To Honor Fallen Officers In Memorial Service

NORWALK, Conn. -- To celebrate National Police Week, the Norwalk Police Department is hosting a Police Memorial Service on Wednesday, May 18.

The service will commence with a Flag Raising Ceremony at 11 a.m.

During this week of remembrance, the Norwalk Police pauses to honor the memory of its brother and sister officers who have lost their lives in the service of the communities they loved. It is also a time to reflect upon the impact of such a loss on the officer’s family, comrades and the entire community. 

Former Norwalk Police members who are being honored at the service are:

  • Sgt. Frank Stratton, who died in 1930 
  • Officer Sherrald Gorton, who died in 1962 
  • Sgt. Nicholas Fera, who died in 1971 
  • Officer Marco Carias, who died in 1982
