An employee of Pramer Fuel reported the theft of his take-home work van from outside his Norwalk residence in October. The van was later recovered in Bridgeport, but $18,000 in tools and supplies were missing, according to the police report.

Some of the items were sold at a Bridgeport scrap metal yard on the morning of the theft, police said. An employee of the scrap yard told investigator that three men had sold the items that day, according to police reports.

One of the three suspects, Bridgeport resident Jorge Orta-Perez, was identified and charged in connection with the case last week, police said. Orta claims that two other men stopped him on the way to the scrap yard and offered him $10 to use his identification to sell the items, according to the arrest report.

The above photos were taken from the scrap yard’s surveillance cameras on the morning of the theft. Norwalk Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the two men in the photographs.
