NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk police were dispatched to a Kendall Court home early Wednesday morning on what turned out to be a false report of someone threatening to harm themselves.
Police received a call at 3:47 a.m. from someone claiming they lived at the Kendall Court home and that they were distraught and going to harm themselves. The caller reported having multiple firearms, according to police. While the dispatcher was on the phone with the caller, several loud banging noises could be heard before the phone went dead, police said.
Patrol units were dispatched to the area and secured the scene, police said. They tried to make contact with people inside the home, but were unable to get anyone to come to the door. EMS also arrived on scene. Eventually police were able to make contact with the residents of the home, and learned that nobody who lived there had called the police. Nobody was injured and nobody was taken into custody, police said. The Detective Bureau is currently investigating the call.
