NORWALK, Conn. – An Apple iPad that had been stolen from the UPS facility on Martin Luther King Drive in South Norwalk was recovered Wednesday by Norwalk Police with assistance from Apple, police said.

Details of how the iPad was stolen, and when, were not disclosed, but a 35-year-old Fairfield man has been arrested in connection with the theft on misdemeanor fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy charges.

According to Norwalk police Sgt. Lisa Cotto, UPS contacted the department after a customer complained they had not received an iPad they ordered. The police department contacted Apple, which gave them the name of the person who registered the device, who turned out to be Christopher Dellorco, of 2024 Kings Highway East in Fairfield.

Norwalk police contacted Dellorco, who said he sold the device to another, unnamed person, Cotto said. After contacting that individual, police recovered the iPad. The person who bought the device from Dellorco said they did not suspect the iPad was stolen because it had been registered to Dellorco, Cotto said.

Dellorco was arrested and charged with larceny and conspiracy. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear Nov. 1 in Norwalk Superior Court.
