NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk man and woman were arrested on prostitution charges after they were discovered having sex in an alley near Madison Street on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
An off-duty Norwalk Police officer found the man and woman with their pants down behind a brick wall near Madison at about 5 p.m. Tuesday. The officer saw the two “engaged in a sexual act,” according to his report.
Benny Santiago, 54, of Fort Point Street told police that he had paid the woman $20 for the act, police said. Lorraine Conception, 50, of Putnam Avenue denied taking any money and told police that Santiago was her boyfriend. Santiago denied having an ongoing relationship with Conception, according to the police report.
During their arrest, officers also found marijuana in Santiago's possession, police said. The amount was above the half-ounce threshold to qualify for an infraction, according to police reports.
Conception was charged with prostitution, public indecency and trespassing Tuesday. Santiago was charged with patronizing a prostitute, public indecency, trespassing, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and added charges of drug possession within 1,500 feet of a school. Each was held on $5,000 bond and assigned a court date of Oct. 31.
