NORWALK, Conn. --  Norwalk Police arrested a local man on several drug charges after finding him in possession of a pound of marijuana and over $14,000 in cash on Wenesday, officials said.

The Norwalk Special Services Unit and U.S. Marshals surrounded the home on Muffin Lane while waiting for a warrant to be obtained when Zachary Fisher, 23, ran out of the back door and fled into a wooded area. Authorities found Fisher in possession of a duffel bag that contained a pound of marijuana and $14,203 in cash, police said.

Authorities then returned to the home and found another pound of marijuana, 5.57 grams of cocaine, a prescription Lidocaine patch, grow lamps and an additional $1,310, police said.

Fisher, who was not the suspect police had hoped to locate, was charged with 12 different counts including: possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Fisher is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
