NORWALK, Conn. – A New Haven man was arrested early Tuesday after he was found with heroin and cocaine inside his car in Norwalk, police said.
A witness called to report a suspicious car parked near the intersection of Neptune Avenue and Harborview Avenue at about 4:50 a.m. Tuesday. Officers found a car that matched the caller’s description and smelled marijuana smoke coming from the window as they approached, according to the police report.
Husain Redmond, 33, was in the driver’s seat at the time, police said. Officers also saw a plastic baggie on the back seat, which contained 44 paper folds containing heroin, according to the arrest report. Police also found another plastic bag with 15 individually wrapped packages of crack cocaine on the seat, police said.
Redmond was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, illegal distribution of a controlled substance and an added charge for being within 1,500 feet of a school. He was held on $50,000 bond and is due in court on Sept. 26.
