Norwalk Police Make Marijuana Arrests

NORWALK, Conn. – Two 21-year-old Norwalk men were arrested on narcotics charges Thursday after officers found an undisclosed amount of marijuana in their possession following a motor vehicle stop, police said.

According to Norwalk Police Lt. Praveen John, police charged Johnathan Lubin, of 2 Hemlock St., and Geraldo Charles, of 139 Main St., with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance of less than 4 ounces, illegal possession of narcotics near a school, conspiracy and illegal manufacturing, distribution and sale of a prescription narcotic.

The arrests occurred on West Avenue near Reed Street, after officers pulled over Lubin’s car, which smelled of marijuana, police said. Upon searching it, officers said they found marijuana on the passenger floor near where Charles was sitting, and also found a digital scale and a metal grinder used to grind marijuana.

The two were released after each posting a $5,000 bond, and are scheduled to appear Nov. 1 in Norwalk Superior Court.
