NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Police Department has identified the man responsible for a hit-and-run accident on Tuesday that left a pedestrian with serious injuries and obtained a warrant for his arrest, police said.
The driver of a newer gray Jeep hit a pedestrian and then fled at about 7 p.m. at 5 Senga Road, police said.
Witnesses described the driver as a short, black male, and also observed a female passenger, said police.
Police have the Jeep involved in the incident in custody and have issued an arrest warrant for the driver, police said.
The police department thanks the public for their assistance with the investigation.
The victim remains hospitalized at Norwalk Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
