Norwalk Police Issued 50 Tickets On St. Patrick's Day

NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk police issued 50 infractions during their DUI enforcement on St. Patrick's Day.

Police stepped up drunk driving enforcement through the evening of Tuesday, March 17 into the early hours of Wednesday, March 18. This included a DUI checkpoint on West Avenue, as well as additional roving DUI units patrolled throughout the city.

Police arrested two people for allegedly operating under the influence. Other infractions and summonses included nine tickets for no seat belts, 21 unregistered motor vehicles and one summons for use of a cell phone, police said.
