At about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, staff at the Norwalk Hospital Emergency Department notified police that an unresponsive male had been brought to the emergency room and was pronounced dead upon arrival, police said.

The man, later identified as Garcia, had been transported to the hospital in a private vehicle by his friends, according to police. Garcia's friends remained at the hospital until police arrived and were cooperating with the investigation, according to police. Garcia's next of kin also responded to Norwalk Hospital.

On Monday, an autopsy was performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Preliminary results indicated that there had been no foul play, according to police. The medical examiner is awaiting lab results and further testing to issue a final cause and manner of death, police said.

Garcia was a Class of 2013 graduate of Stamford High School and currently attended Western Connecticut State University in Danbury.
