NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Police have identified the woman found dead in a Westport Avenue home Wednesday morning as 49-year-old Lisa Zemlock.
Zemlock's body was found in her home at 505 Westport Ave. Unit 17 after officers arrived on a report of an assault, police said.
Officers detained another resident, 59-year-old Paul Bjerke, who was inside the residence. Bjerke was later charged with first-degree manslaughter for his role in the death, police said.
Police said that detectives are awaiting the results of an autopsy that will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Bjerke shared the home, which is in a mobile home community, with Zemlok, who was his girlfriend, The Hour reported.
Bjerke was arraigned Wednesday afternoon at state Superior Court in Norwalk, where his bond was raised from $750,000 to $1 million, The Hour said.
The police investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Daniel Fitzmaurice at 203-854-3180.
