"They were so excited," their grandmother Jennifer Rumbelow said about the boys' contribution to the Norwalk Police Department's first annual Stuff A Cruiser event.
"It's great we have received gifts at headquarters already in abundance and certainly we are starting to fill the cruiser as we speak," Lt. Terry Blake said early Friday afternoon. The event was from noon to 8 p.m.
"The holiday season is a big time of year for children and certainly for those in Norwalk who are less fortunate we are trying to give them an equal opportunity here to get as many Christmas gifts as they can," Blake said.
Joining him were officers Keith Torreso and Sara Laudano, who are community policing officers with the department.
"It's a rewarding feeling when you are helping children who are a little less fortunate than others and you are able to provide them with toys for the holidays," Laudano said about the efforts of police and Norwalk residents who donated gifts.
The unwrapped gifts will be giving to newborns through children aged 12. All donations will benefit families in need through the Domestic Violence Crisis Center.
