Norwalk Police Hold Thanksgiving DUI Enforcement

NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk Police Department will be conducting increased motor vehicle and DUI enforcement beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 26, before the Thanksgiving holiday.

A DUI checkpoint will be set up along the West Avenue corridor during the evening hours of Wednesday night. Additional roving DUI patrols will be assigned throughout the city over the holiday weekend.

Statistics show that 40 percent of Thanksgiving fatalities around the country involve drunken driving.

Norwalk police remind residents who are consuming alcohol at holiday events to designate a driver or make alternate arrangements for transportation.
