Norwalk Police Help Arrest Bridgeport Man On Drug Charges

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Norwalk police assisted Bridgeport and state police in the arrest of a Bridgeport man on multiple drug charges.

Taijon Cooper, 21, was charged with multiple narcotics violations, including possession of heroin with intent to sell and possession of heroin within 1,500 feet of public housing. He was held on a $900,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, Sept. 24.

The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Statewide Firearms Trafficking Task Force, the Norwalk Police Special Services Unit, the Bridgeport Police Department and the State Police Gang Unit, according to police reports. Police said that, based on an ongoing investigation into narcotics violations, a search warrant was executed at Cooper's apartment in the PT Barnum Housing Complex on Anthony Street in Bridgeport.

During the execution of the warrant, police seized 327 bags of heroin totaling 4.4 ounces, as well as 6.8 grams of marijuana and $1,060 in cash, according to police reports. Cooper was then taken into custody.
