The department is working in conjunction with the Sacred Heart University Department of Criminal Justice to conduct the survey. Several hundred surveys have been mailed over the past few months to residents who have recently been in contact with Norwalk Police, according to a release.
"We are urging residents to please complete and return them in the self addressed stamped envelope that was enclosed," police said in the press release. "The survey should not take longer than five minutes of your time and will offer a general opinion about the level of service provided to you, the citizens of Norwalk."
The completed surveys are to be mailed directly to Sacred Heart University allowing the respondents to remain completely anonymous, according to the release.
"We hope that residents, business owners and visitors, take this opportunity to let us know their perceptions of the department and their treatment by Norwalk Police Officers," said Chief Thomas Kulhawik.
