The Bouton Street resident told police that he was sitting on his porch just before 1 p.m. on Friday, May 26 when two males came onto his porch, pushed him, and grabbed his wallet, according to the Hour. The man chased the two as they fled on foot from his home, but eventually lost sight of them, the Hour reported. Police responded to the area and searched for the two suspects, using a K9 to track them, according to the Hour.
Police told the Hour that the K9 led the officers to a nearby home, and when someone fitting the description of one of the suspects saw the officers, he ran into the home. Officers answered the door and 19-year-old Andres Bautista answered, the Hour reported. He was positively identified as one of the suspects, police told the Hour.
Bautista was charged with third-degree robbery and he was given a $25,000 bond. The Hour reported that he is facing pending charges from two drug arrests last year.
