Norwalk Pedestrian, 79, Dies After Being Hit By Car

NORWALK, Conn. -- A 79-year-old Norwalk man was struck and killed by a car on Newtown Avenue Thursday, according to police.

The incident took place in the area of 197 Newtown Ave. at around 11:30 p.m. Police said the man was walking in the roadway when he was hit by the car. The driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and called police.

The name of the man is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin, police said. The accident remains under investigation.
