Samantha George, 24, who moved to Norwalk from San Diego after meeting the boyfriend online, was charged with risk of injury to a child and was held on $150,000 bond, the Hour said.

The boyfriend, Pedro Salinas, was held on $300,000 bond on charges of first-degree assault, cruelty and risk of injury to a child.

The child suffered serious brain injuries in the assault and was nearly blinded, The Hour said. Police called the girl’s injuries “severe, life-changing, and traumatic."

Authorities said the mother waited several days after the girl was beaten before taking her to Norwalk Hospital on June 25 and lied, saying the girl was injured after falling in the driveway, The Hour says.
