The Advocate reported that 26-year-old Terrence Peterson shot the unnamed 30-year-old victim in the chest in 2013 because he was angry about unwashed dishes left in the sink.

Peterson, who pleaded guilty in a Stamford courtroom to first-degree assault, was also sentenced to four more years for punching a prison guard in the face so hard that he broke his eye socket, The Advocate said.

If he had been found guilty at trial, Peterson could have been sentenced to 20 years, according to The Advocate.
