NORWALK, Conn. -- The man found by officers at a different location after they had staked out a home on Suncrest Road on Tuesday is facing a number of charges in connection with the incident, police said.
Police said a woman got into a dispute with Ronny Mejia-Santana at the Suncrest Road residence, and she went to police headquarters to report it. Officers went to the residence, but unknown to them, he had already fled before they arrived, police said. The suspect also allegedly threatened a third person during the domestic incident, police said.
Officers had blocked Suncrest Road and evacuated some residents from the area of the housing complex as they sought to get the suspect out of the residence, police said. The Hour reported that the SWAT team was called to the scene, and an officer was using a bullhorn.
After several hours, officers discovered he wasn't inside the residence and instead was found at another residence that police had under surveillance, Sgt. Sofia Gulino said.
Mejia-Santana, of Merwin Street, was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree threatening, unlawful restraint, violation of a protective order, refusal to be fingerprinted, and fourth-degree sexual assault.
