Orvin A. Juarez-Ramirez, 19, of 20 Avenue E., was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of impairing morals. His total bond was set at $10,000 and he was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Norwalk Police said the girl's mother went to police last November after her daughter began acting out and missing classes, Sgt. Sofia Gulino said.

During the investigation police discovered that there was an alleged sexual relationship between the teenagers. Juarez-Ramirez turned himself into police Thursday.

In Connecticut second-degree sexual assault includes a section involving teens who are more than 13 years old but under 16 years of age. If the older person is more than two years older than the younger person, a charge of second degree sexual assault will be laid.
