Norwalk Man Charged With Manslaughter In Fatal Car Crash

NORWALK, Conn. -- A 27-year-old Norwalk man is facing a number of criminal charges in connection with a June car crash that caused the death of a 49-year-old woman, according to thehour.com.

The driver of the car he crashed into also faces criminal charges, the paper said.

Salvadore Vega, 27, was arraigned Friday and charged with manslaughter with a motor vehicle, reckless driving, operating under the influence and second-degree assault, according to the report.

Vega was driving a Dodge Neon that crashed into a Toyota Scion in which Doris Ramirez-Giraldo was a passenger at about 3:15 a.m. June 21 on Belden Avenue, the report said.

She was thrown from the car and died, the report said.

The Scion's driver, Jose Ramirez, 45, of 66 Wilton Ave., was charged with operating while under the influence, according to the report.
