NORWALK, Conn. — A verbal argument between a man and woman at a Norwalk residence escalated into a physical altercation, ending with his arrest early Monday, police said.
Jose Castillo of 35 Spring Hill had been watching the Super Bowl with the victim when they began arguing about his ex-wife, police said.
The woman told officers that during the argument, Castillo put his hands around her neck, which she perceived as choking, police said. She told police that she had a hard time breathing but she did not lose consciousness, police said.
During the altercation, the woman bit Castillo, police said. Officers found bite marks and dried blood on Castillo’s hand, police said.
After his arrest, officers told Castillo that he could not have any contact with the woman until his court date, police said.
Castillo was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree strangulation. His bond was set at $10,000, and he was given a court date of Feb. 8.
