Wilmer Arias, 37, was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and conspiracy. He was held on $60,000 bond.

The burglaries occurred in January and February, police said.

Arias worked with two co-conspirators, Elvin Natalio Ramos-Telles and Alberto Silva-Garcia, who were arrested previously, according to police. The three men would primarily target homes that were under construction and then would steal tools and materials, police said.

Through an investigation led by Detectives Dominick Cisero and Justin Bisceglie, police were able to recover thousands of dollars in stolen power tools, according to police. They linked the stolen tools to multiple burglary investigations and were able to return the stolen items to their owners, police said. Cisero and Bisceglie were praised for their hard work and persistence in bringing the investigation to a close.

Arias and Ramos-Telles were previously arrested in Darien in February after police said they broke into a Darien home under construction and stole tools there.
