Shakha Moore, 21, was charged with assault on a peace officer, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, sale and possession within distance of a school and interfering with an officer. He has held on $10,000 bond.

Breyona Sampson, 24, of Norwalk was also charged with interfering with an officer. She was held on $2,500 bond. Both will appear in court April 23.

An officer on patrol in the area of Raymond Street and Day at 5:35 p.m. Monday spotted Moore, who appeared to be licking a blunt, police said. The officer approached Moore, who dropped the blunt and put his hands in his pockets, according to police. When the officer told him to take his hands out, Moore pushed the officer, according to police.

The officer called for additional units while Moore actively resisted, police said. He was wrestled to the ground and continued to resist, before getting back up on his feet, police said.

As a crowd formed, the officer pulled away from Moore and told him that he would Taser him if he did not stop resisting, police said. Moore then complied with the officer and was handcuffed, according to police reports.

Police searched Moore and found three bags of marijuana, individually packaged for sale, in his possession, according to police reports.

As they were taking Moore back to headquarters, Sampson approached and started yelling at the officers, police said. She said that Moore was her cousin, and would not stop yelling and cursing at the officers, police said. She was eventually arrested, and she continued to kick the door of the patrol car and yell at officers as she was taken away, police said.
