NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk man was arrested Tuesday and charged with biting his ex-girlfriend after walking into her apartment in violation of a protective order, Norwalk Police say.
Johnathan Ramirez, 21, of 9 Rolling Lane, was charged with criminal mischief third degree, injury/risk/impairing morals, assault third degree, weapons in a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct. Bond was set at $10,000.
Police were called to the Rolling Lane home that Ramirez had shared with his girlfriend at 10:07 a.m. on a report of a disturbance, Sgt. Lisa Cotto said. The ex told police she and Ramirez had argued and he bit her hand. As police neared the home the woman told dispatchers Ramirez had left and described his car and provided the license plate number.
Ramirez was stopped at Sunset Hill Avenue and East Avenue, Cotto said. He was handcuffed and police found a bb gun under the driver's seat of his car.
Police said Ramirez went to the home to get his belongings, and finding the door unlocked, walked in. During an argument he took the victim's cell phone, police said, and when she tried to get it back, he is accused of biting her.
The woman's father was there, trying to calm things down, Cotto said. Ramirez allegedly pushed him out of the way, picked up a pair of Calvin Klein sunglasses and a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, threw them on the floor and stomped on them. Finding perfume on the dresser, he threw those onto the floor and smashed them near a 1-month-old baby.
