Norwalk Man Accused Of Taking Tools From Ex-Employer's Home

NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk man was charged with breaking into the home of his former employer last week, according to police reports.

A Woodward Avenue resident reported the burglary July 27, police said. The screen on a basement window of his home was cut, and a collection of landscaping and construction tools were reported stolen, police say.

The resident told investigators that he suspected one of his ex-employees of taking the items and provided police with a list of names. Officers went to the home of one of the listed suspects on Lexington Avenue, police said. While talking with the man, officers saw one of the items reported stolen, according to police reports. Police filed for a search warrant for the house and found the rest of the items inside, police say.

Jairo Ruiz, 19, of Lexington Avenue was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree burglary and fourth-degree larceny. His bond was set at $25,000, and he is due in court on Aug. 12.
