NORWALK, Conn. – An 84-year-old Norwalk man faces a second set of public indecency charges based on reports that he exposed himself to children last month, according to police reports.
Jorge Villalta, 84, of Roger Square, was arrested on Sept. 24 in connection with a complaint police had received three days earlier. Villalta was identified as the suspect who had exposed his genitals to young children at the Party City store on Connecticut Avenue on Sept. 21, according to police reports.
On the day after his arrest, another woman came forward to report a similar incident, police said. She told police that a man had followed her two children while in the party supply aisle of the Walmart store on Main Avenue on Sept. 21, according to the police report. The man held a cereal box at waist height, and then moved it to reveal his exposed genitals, the witness said.
The woman decided to come forward after seeing the other report on the local news, police said. She identified Villalta as the suspect based on a photo lineup, according to police reports. Investigators filed for an arrest warrant, which was served Thursday morning.
Villalta was charged with public indecency, risk of injury to a minor and a breach of the peace Thursday. He was taken directly to Norwalk Superior Court for arraignment.
