Randy Fedor was charged with third-degree assault. He was held on $10,000 bond and went to court Thursday.
Fedor contacted police at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday to report a burglary at his home on Osborne Avenue, police said.
He told officers that when he arrived home, his $185 DVD player was missing, police said. Officers arrived and found no signs of forced entry, but discovered that there was an active arrest warrant out for Fedor and took him into custody, police said.
The warrant stemmed from an incident Aug. 21 when police said Fedor got in a fight with his girlfriend. According to police reports, he threw her down to the floor and kicked her.
She was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment, but by the time officers arrived Fedor had left, police said. A warrant was then issued for his arrest.
