Officers were called at 4:26 p.m. about a man who was yelling and screaming about food that another occupant of the residence had eaten but did not pay for, Norwalk police said.

Before they arrived, officers were told that the man, Jeremy Rogers, had two firearms in his possession that he was not supposed to have, police said.

Officers at the time did not know whether Rogers was carrying the firearms or whether he had them somewhere in the residence, police said.

After they were let into the home by the complainant, officers found Rogers standing in a room with a juvenile nearby, police said. Police said the child was well cared for and in good health.

Rogers was not making any threats and was not carrying any weapons, police said. When officers asked whether he had any firearms in the apartment, he told them he had two, police said.

Officers found the firearms in a bedroom closet, which were unsecured and close to the juvenile, in addition to ammunition, police said. The firearms were not loaded, police said.

Police said that having the firearms in his possession were a violation of Rogers' probation. Officers also discovered he had an outstanding warrant from the Stamford police department, police said.

Rogers was charged with violation of probation, altering ID on guns, criminal possession of a firearm, and risk of injury to a minor, police said

Rogers was taken into custody and transported to headquarters without incident, police said.

His bond was set at $100,000 with a court date of July 27 for the gun and risk of injury to a minor charges, police said. For the violation of probation charge, his bond was set at $25,000 with a court date of July 27, police said.
