John Drozdzynski, 20, was charged with disorderly conduct, assault on a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana and interfering with an officer. He was held on $75,000 bond and will appear in court July 18.
Police received a complaint at about 7 p.m. Wednesday that Drozdzynski was causing a disturbance at the Dunkin' Donuts on North Main Street. He had gone in and asked for water, police said.
While the employees were getting it for him, he became enraged, police said. He began breaking things, including the front window, according to police reports.
When officers arrived, Drozdzynski was not wearing a shirt and approached the officers in an aggressive fashion, police said. Officers handcuffed Drozdzynski and walked him outside, at which point he broke away and began running, police said.
Officers Tasered him, but it did not have an effect and he continued running south, police said. Officers blocked him off with a cruiser and Tasered him again, at which point he was taken into custody, police said.
Drozdzynski was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where police said he spit at officers and hospital staff. He was also found with a small amount of marijuana, according to police reports.
