Shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to an alarm at Star Towing and gas station on Jennings Road, police said. They found the front door glass shattered but still in place, police said.

A review of surveillance video shot a few minutes before the alarm sounded showed a white male on foot, hiding between parked cars on the property, police said.

The suspect walked up to the front door, threw something at the bottom glass and grabbed hold of the metal bar to pull the door open, making off with the metal cash drawer from the cash register, police said.

The suspect left down Jennings Road toward Longfellow Avenue, police said.

At about 2:20 a.m., officers responded to an active alarm at Pepe’s Pizza on Commerce Drive. They found the lock cylinder to the front door missing and the cash drawer on the floor, police said.

K-9 officers from Fairfield and Norwalk tracked both locations in the direction of Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport, but found no more information, police said.

There was no surveillance video at Pepe’s to compare the two burglaries, but police said they believe it’s the same suspect.
