NORWALK, Conn. – An early-morning fire on Truman Street damaged two Norwalk homes and nearby cars, according to Norwalk Fire Department reports.

Norwalk firefighters responded to the call at about 1:25 a.m. Saturday. Heavy fire was showing from two sides of a Truman Street home when crews arrived, Deputy Chief Gino Gatto said in a press release.

The fire dealt heavy damage to the home and two cars parked in its driveway, but firefighters were able to stop the spread of the fire before it reached the upper floors. The siding of a neighboring house had also begun to melt before the fire was extinguished.

Two adults had made it out of the home safely after being alerted of the fire by one of their dogs, Gatto said. No injuries were reported in the fire.

The cause of the blaze was still under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.
