NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk firefighters quickly extinguished a blaze that broke out in a building at the Shorehaven Country Club Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported shortly before 2 p.m. It began on the second floor of a two-story building where employees live, according to Assistant Fire Chief Lawrence Reilly. When firefighters arrived, all occupants of the building had already evacuated.
About 25 firefighters responded to the scene and spent between 15 and 20 minutes putting out the flames. Reilly said that they open up the roof and space near windows to vent out smoke and get at the fire inside the walls.
Nobody was injured in the fire, and the cause is still under investigation.
