Norwalk Firefighters Extinguish Blaze On San Vincenzo Place

NORWALK, Conn. – Three residents of a condominium at 100 San Vincenzo Place in Norwalk were temporarily displaced Tuesday afternoon after a fire in the unit’s laundry room and adjoining hallway, according to the Norwalk Fire Department.

The three were home at the time of the 12:21 p.m. blaze, and they were checked out by Norwalk Hospital paramedics but did not require transport to the hospital, Deputy Fire Chief Chris King said in a statement.

Deputy Fire Marshal Chris Hanson and Inspector Tom Raila were investigating the cause of the fire, which was contained to a relatively small area due to sprinklers that activated. Firefighters arrived within four minutes and spied smoke. The blaze was extinguished soon afterward.

The San Vincenzo Place complex was built in 1992 and has a total of 58 units. The displaced residents will stay with family until repairs are completed, King said.
